Knitty Cat Item Specific Classes: Classes are $20 unless otherwise stated. You will receive 10% off class materials and 10% everything in the shop the day of your class. The classes are officially 2 hours, but you can stay as long as you like to work on the project. The classes tend to fill quickly, so the best chance to get into a class, is call the night that they are posted. Please do not leave your selection via email. Just call (720) 493-5648 and leave your selection on voicemail. I'll call you back to confirm and get payment information to reserve your spot. If you need to cancel a class, please let me know at least 7 days in advance for a class credit. If you miss a class, you will still get a discount on your class materials and instruction on the project when it is more convenient for you. To Learn How to Knit: Drop in on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, buy a few materials and I'll show ya how to knit. Once you know how to knit, you can join the masses and sign up for the classes!

OCTOBER, 2008 FELTED CLOGS Wednesday, October 1 @ 8:30 a.m. 4 SPOTS LEFT The traditional Fiber Trends felted shoes! Great gifts for men, women and children. I’m really excited to try this yarn out. Quite the exotic switch from wool! This beautiful vest is found in Interweave Knits Winter 2006. It is knit in once piece and is shaped from increases and decreases hidden within the arrangement of stitch patterns. Advanced intermediate knitters for this one! SHOJI SCREEN WRAP Saturday, October 11 @ 9:00 a.m. FULL Great new pattern from www.tinkknit.com – we’ll use Noro Kochoran to make this unusual wrap. It is an interesting architectural duet between knit and open spaces. Bring size 32" 10 needle. This looks really hard, but is very easy for new knitters. Pattern cost is $10. PERUVIAN CAP Wednesday, October 15 @ 8:30 a.m. 4 SPOTS LEFT A great fair-isle hat with earflaps, braided cords and ponpoms. This looks really hard to knit, but most of the colorwork is done with slip stitch knitting. Bring size 7 circular and dpns. You can use a wide variety of worsted weight yarns to make this hat! BOOBY SOCKS Saturday, October 18 @ 9:00 a.m. 3 SPOTS LEFT In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we’ll knit these pink socks with ribbons knitted in, beads and a little "nipple" at the toe. These would be a perfect gift for a loved one who is or has gone through breast cancer. All proceeds from this class will go to the Susan Komen Foundation. SIDESADDLE CLUSTER TOP/WRAP Wednesday, October 22 @ 8:30 a.m. From Loop D Loop Crochet, Teva makes a spectacular 2-piece stretchy top/wrap set using simple crochet clusters. SHIBORI FELT WRAP Wednesday, November 12 @ 8:30 a.m. 5 SPOTS LEFT Shibori is a Japanese inspired technique using beading, pleating and embroidery to manipulate and decorate the fabric. This is a short, felted scarf that is meant to be worn on the shoulders over a coat or jacket and fastened with a knitted, felted corsage. In the class, you’ll learn bead knitting and flower knitting. This is a very easy project for beginning knitters. Book cost is $24.95. Bring size 3 needles, and 6 and 8 needles for the flower. Really elegant! Bring size G hook. Pattern cost is $7. LACE SCARF Wednesday, August 13 @ 8:30 a.m. 5 SPOTS LEFT A great excuse to buy the coffee table book "Victorian Lace Today." This gorgeous book has many different lace scarves and shawls inspired by and dedicated to "the pioneering Victorian women who wrote the first knitting books and to the even more adventurous women who knit from them." We’ll do a scarf with a beautiful edging lace pattern from Scotland, 1850. Bring size 8 needle. I’ll be using the creamy (milk yarn) from Kollage Yarns. Intermediate Lace. CARDIWRAP Saturday, August 16 @ 9:00 a.m. 1 SPOT LEFT You can use this class to learn hairpin lace or you can actually knit it! It’s a half shawl/half cardigan - you’ve seen the back and sleeves and then the really long fronts so you can wrap it around yourself. Ultra-versatile garment! DECEMBER, 2008 CRAYON BOX JACKET Wednesday, December 3 @ 8:30 a.m. 5 SPOTS LEFT The ever popular multi color, multi texture jacket that lives at the shop. If you haven’t done this class, it’s a great one to experiment and "practice" letting go of rules and symmetry. Bring size 10 needles. Advanced beginning knitter can handle this one. Could be a great stash buster! BARNRAISING SQUARE SHARE $10 SATURDAY NIGHT, DEC 6 @ 6:00 P.M. FULL Inspired by the book "Knitalong" and Vicky’s wonderful suggestion of a barn raising square get together, we’ll turn this into a dinner at Knitty Cat. This will be open to 15 people. All you have to do is get the book (cost $22.50) and knit 2 of the same squares ahead of time. Any sock yarn will do. One of the squares you’ll keep hidden with you, and one of the squares you’ll wrap as a gift. As you come in, you’ll pick a number, designating the order to unwrap. We’ll have dinner, then open our gifts. You’ll keep that square until all are unwrapped. (this is not a white elephant!) At the end, we’ll reveal who is holding your square and then we can designate ourselves square buddies - whatever that means!) This little bedspread/lap robe will be wonderful with one of the squares made by a fellow knitter and friend! COLEUS SCARF Wednesday, September 17 @ 8:30 a.m. 2 SPOTS LEFT This scarf is by Kristin Nicholas who is a master of playing with color. She was inspired by Coleus flowers that she grows on her patio. We’ll use a 2-handed fair isle technique to work this scarf in the round. Then we’ll perform a little mini steek when we cut the scarf open so that the sides of the cut become the short ends of the scarf. We’ll unravel both ends to create the fringe. Great fun and a new way to work a scarf for me. But I’m for it since we won’t have to fair isle purl! Bring size 8 32" needle. Book cost $24.95.
